This is my third visit to goa after coming to m'lore,we were planning 'go goa' since dec last year but one or other problems always popped up, so after postponing again n again and convincing everyone we decided to visit Goa on 24,25 and 26th of Jan(wat a way to celebrate the Republic day). We booked the hotel from m'lore itself(as it was a long weekend and we knew there would be many freaks like us visiting goa)after calling about 6 hotels we decided to stay in Hotel shelsta which is situated on the Baga - Calangute road.
Night 1,23rd Jan: 11 of us-myself,kasthuri,manicks,nanda,naga,sayeesh,sarvana,vijay, ezhil,nike and naveen decided to finish the work early on friday and start from m'lore @8.30. Nanda esp. came from b'lore on friday morning and worked from m'lore so that he can drive the scorpio(he is our driver#1). This time these guys were so detemined to leave @ 8.30 sharp that i fell for them-finished my work early, said a short good bye to my friend,packed my bag, got ready and was there @ manicks' house@ 8.30 only to see that neither these guys nor the vehicle we rented was ready , damn me. After waiting for almost 2 hours our vehicle and the driver(we had to book one driver bcoz some ppl in the group were not confident about the driving skills of our driver, Nanda-driver#1 and manicks driver#2 :)...) arrived. Both the vehicles we rented were black beauties -a corsa and a scropio.So those who were not afraid for their lives-myself,manicks,nanda,ezhil,nike,naga and naveen got into scorpio which was driven by nanda and the rest got into corsa. With only tamil songs playing and me taking an oath to speak only in tamil for these days it was all tamil makkals on the loose. Our first stop at that night was a small roadside hotel(if u can call that) in Kundapur, some 85 km from Mangalore-a place where we usually stop during our treks/bike trips/previous visits to goa.We reloaded ourselves with double omelettes,bread and chai, with 3.50 for a double omelette and 3.50 for a chai-the total bill was 98-if u want u can calculate how many we had:).

After refueling ourselves and deciding not to stop anywhere else before goa checkpost(except for relieving oneself) we were back into the vehicles. We had some 4 to 5 pit stops in between, the best one being karwar port-sea on one side and mountain on the other and stars above(we also gave what we can give back to the nature....).We reached the goa checkpost only to be mugged....the official there gave some blah blah blah on what docs we don't know..how much will be the fine.... and how much will be fine for him....we gave him some gandhi bapus and were back on track, we reached panjim in the early morning and in yet another pit stop, we saw that the corsa front tyre was punctured(A good omen...)...we(I) changed it..we had some more chai... Gang-myself,naga,VJ,sarvana,sayeesh,kasthuri,BM,naveen,nike,nanda n Ezhil(L to R)

and reached our destination...calangute..we slept for sometime then freshened up had breakfast and hit calangute beach.

We strolled the beach enjoying the natural beauty in all shapes and sizes...sat in some shack..had some chilled water:)...some snacks..and left the beach (deciding to come back the after)and went for go karting,which is next to the saturday night market which we did not want to miss. The major attraction in go kart was ezhil n kasthuri hitting eachother on the track like long lost lovers..and the competition was who will not be the last..in the next round the rest of us joined... i started at third and it was my turn to show my skills behind the wheel..it was a Zip Zap Zoom .... manicks and nanda were both shocked and behind me..one attraction this time was sayeesh and manicks having a head-on collision(don't ask how)..and manicks got a new nickname..BM =Mr.Balls Missing..lol... Night 2,24rd Jan :After some banging ..we went to the saturday night market..only to find it to be closed...we enquired and found that b'coz of bombay blasts and some security reasons it is closed this week... our bad luck:(...so we went to baga this time enjoyed the night beauty..and let ourselves loose on the dance floor...had some fenni and hukka and prawn vindaloo(i have watched it so many times on TV..and everyone praised it,now i came to know y..)we had some open air entertainment also like fire juggling,fire blow,fire eating,rope walking and wat one..all this i have seen only on TV this was my first real time experience...we all went back to the room and called the night.....

I am back.....

Its been more than 8 months since my last blog(my previous blog shows the date as Thursday, May 29, 2008). I started blogging as a pass time since i had nothing much do for 6 weeks when i met with an accident, but after joining work i had so many things going on in my life- CAT preparation, work life(to prove myself in the new project), my life other than work(work life balance :)...), my physical structure(didn't go to gym regularly last year), i had no time to blog(to be read as ' I am lazy'). But now i am back,the reasons being i am almost free nowadays-today was my project implementation day, for the past 2 weekends i had nothing much do( my weekend friend is enjoying the winter at her home) ,CAT got screwed up:(... and i am bored again.

So wat did i do for the past 8 months other than the activities mentioned above, to be frank i think nothing much. I stopped trekking, no more bike trips with the gang(biker boyz are no more :(....), weekdays were spent in office and weekends were spent in classes and adlabs. This continued till last month and on Jan 11 2009, i went to a bike trip again, this time to Udupi which is 60 kms from m'lore.

A day before Jan,11 as part of pongal celebration, the tamils in Infy m'lore organised a cultural gala which was celebrated for 3 days(i didn't participate in any of the three days, but when i first came to m'lore i took part in pongal celebration in 2007 ) and on the last day we organised for lunch for the whole of infy m'lore(serving some 2000 odd people). Last time i visited Udupi was i think the week before pongal celebration in 2007 and this time it was the day after. With no good movies on that week and bored of roaming in m'lore, me and my weekend friend decided to go to Udupi, we started our journey at around 10 in the morning,it took almost 1 and 1/2 hours to reach Shri Krishna Matha (more details can be found here). We had a darshan there and had lunch in the temple itself- rice,rasam, sambhar and a sweet was served, but it seemed it was the best food i had till now.(I once saw Padma Lakshmi sitting in the same place and having food as any other devotee,of course inside the Idiot box).

After having lunch and visiting 2 more temples our next stop was the Malpe beach/St. Mary's island(more details can be found here). I have been there before but the water and the rocks still attracted me.I think u can clearly notice that in these pictures, same place, same person but different years:)

We were there for more than an hour,then we went to Malpe beach ,had a fried fish freshly caught from the sea and returned to m'lore around 9.Its 3:02 am now, i cannot write more.............zzzzzzzzzzz
