Bike trek to Anadka falls

After more than 6 months in hibernation, i started again with what i love the most-long rides on my bike and exploring nature's exquisite beauty. It was very difficult for me to control my tempation for treks, last week my trekking gang went to Kosalli falls with out me,as my doctor has adviced me to avoid long rides because i am still recovering from my accident, but when i saw the pics..i told them "next week,i will also join you".So after a long search and endless conversation mails on weekend plans, our gang's trek organiser :) 'Kasthuri' fixed Anadka falls as the biker boyz next halt.

We decided to start at 5.30 in the morning,as it was my first bike trek after a break,i woke up early and this time instead of people calling me to wake me up,i called almost everyone. As usual some one was late,so we all gathered in front of the Infosys gate, our starting point at around 6,we were 14 people in 7 bikes. Our next meeting place was a small restaurant in Bantwal Cross road(in short BC road) for breakfast, which is exactly 23 kms from Mangalore.

We reached the place at around 7,had breakfast and asked the waiter there to pack something for lunch which we can have at the falls, but as we reached early lunch was not ready yet,so we decided we will have somewhere in Ujire. After many short breaks in between we reached Ujire which is another junction like BC road. This time we had two kannada speaking guys with us,so unlike many other treks there was no language barrier. They enquired about the falls and i searched for lunch, but no restaurants there packed food.We continued our ride and decided will have lunch on the way back from falls. We took a left turn after a km from Ujire, this was a newly constructed road, with no traffic at all,so most of us were crusing like crazy bikers(one can imagine the speed of indian bikes on a newly constructed traffic free road).Open roads, panoramic beauty of ghats, cool breeze and over all, the feeling of being a free bird, this was the best road i have travelled so far in the Charmadi ghats.

After riding for almost an hour on the good road:),we had to take a right turn near Didupe ,which is a small village in the Kudremukh national park area, now the real test of our riding skills and also the field testing of our bikes had started, there was no pakka roads, only stones,we had no idea how far was the falls. The stony roads along with the upslopes made our ride a back breaking one.

We parked our vehicles in somebody's house, thanks to prasanth and nanda(kannada speaking guys) as there is always a chance of vehicle theft/petrol theft if bikes are parked anywhere else.

From this point we were on our feet,it was just a small trek through the rubber plantations and we reached our destination. As we passed through the forest most of us were attacked by leeches...didn't knew till we reached the falls and removed the clothes, leech on my right leg,oh leech on my left too, leech on my bag, under my socks....as it was not a rainy season no one expected this, otherwise we would have carried some leech repellant(salt or tobbacco:)..).Away from the leeches now, the view of the falls was fantastic. The water was not that deep, one can easily go near the falls and enjoy the splashing water, the base was sandy and not rocky, different from all other previous falls which i had visited.

We spent almost an hour in there, had some snacks. And just when we were coming out some person
suddenly appeared and said that he was a forest guard and without permission, one couldn’t go to the falls. One has to pay 40 rs per head in order to come here,he had no badge just some receipt book,Nanda kept on arguing with him and we came out without even paying a penny:),if nanda would not have accompanied us in this trek, our pockets wud have become a little lighter:).

We were on our way back to the base where we had kept our bikes,my shoulder started paining,so i sat behind someone else and gave my bike to ravi.He slipped on my bike riding at only 35-40 kph...he tore his jeans and had some bruises on his hand...when i fell nothing happened to my jeans:)...poor bike don't know how long its gonna take this torture.....

Appraisal

Mid-year appraisal decides ur faith for the coming next 6 months and may be for the next year also. How much raise u r going to get and whether u will get a promotion or not?In all by this appraisal only u come to know where the hell are u standing in this competitive world? Why am i writing this b'coz i had my appraisal meeting today:(.

Why was this appraisal special...out of the 6 months from nov 07 to apr 08,i was on leave for more than 2 months(70 days to me more precise, spent some good time back home in surat),almost 2 months i was on bench because i just came from a so called vacation and was still recupearting from accident. So it leaves me with just 2 months of actual project period. In this also i was billable for just more than 2o days, the rest i was a buffer in three projects developing an internal tool and attending sessions to have a know-how of all the three projects.

So when i was called to have a tete-a-tete with my PM regarding my appraisal,i said her"there is nothing to evaluate!".She gave me a big smile...Now the official meeting started, she went through my ppt,and then started what she came for 'to appraise' me lol:)...i just sat there and listened to what all she had to say about my performance in this appraisal period...i won't go into details of that..just that out of the three appraisals i had till now this was the worst....and hope it will be forever...this year had shown me many downs and unexpected twists and turns...the start of the year was bad and the bad phase is still continuing..hope so it doesn't continue for the whole year...

Somebody wish me good luck:)..i am in desperate need of that..

Bad phase of life...

Ohhh no...not again....Not even a month passed since i met with an accident and had spent a month at home and still recovering...there i go again..this time my pinky...

How did it happen?I was washing the glass after finishing my dinner, the glass broke and blood was oozing from my little finger..the flow didn't stop...it was a very deep cut..at first i thought it will stop..but damn...it didn't...so asked my room mate to take me to hospital...went to emergency to have the wound dressed...but the doctor there wanted to do something else also:)....the cut was deep..so in order to stop the bleed the cut has to be sutured.. just two weeks back i had my right thumb sutures removed and now this one...i said "ok,carry on"..i had two stitches...with out any anaesthesia this time..2 weeks without any pain..now again i have to be under pain killers for a week...it will take a week to heal...

Now even spending time at home is not safe for me..:)...i have to take precautions in everything i do...lets see whats in store for my body next....

Kyoon kisi ko wafa ke badle wafa nahin milti

Zindagi ...kaisi hai paheli, haaye
Kabhi to hansaaye kabhi ye rulaaye
Zindagi...
Kabhi dekho man nahi jaage peechhe peechhe sapno ke bhaage
Ek din sapno ka raahi chalaa jaaye sapno ke aage kaha
Zindagi...

Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, sometimes life gives us surprises which are hard to accept, in other words life screws you when you least expect it to.This is the time when one starts thinking what did i do wrong??where i went wrong?was it only me?wat am i going to do?why me? and all the crap thoughts starts coming out.Problem comes in everyone's life,i wish that there should not be any big disasters in someone’s life but when the problem comes it comes without any idea or time, uninvited, tats life.

Aa chal ke tujhe, main leke chalu,
Ek aise gagan ke tale……
Jahan Gham bhee na ho, aasu bhi na ho.
Bas pyar hee pyar pale,
Ek Aise ganan ke tale …

I have met many people who share the same feelings as i do,but nobody had any explaination for tat big WHY?Your relation was going smooth without any hiccups then suddenly from nowhere one decides to move out,the whole world crashes just infront of you.Is it only you who will be affected?no, it affects all those who are close to you, may be it includes the person who just decided to part his/her ways. Then u ask him/her,"i was there when u needed me the most, then what happened today? You are leaving me for someone else, or due to your family problems?"And many unanswered questions follows...

Yeh pyaar mein kyoon hota hai..
Kyoon kisi ko wafa ke badle wafa nahin milti
Kyoon kisi ko dua ke badle dua nahin milti
Kyoon kisi ko khushi ke badle khushi nahin milti
Yeh pyaar mein kyoon hota hai..

"What about all those promises, all those precious moments, all those sacrifices i made for u,'I Need you' faces you made before,'I love you'expressions u had...may be tat will be said to someone else now.May be i was wrong somewhere, may be i took some bad decisions or may be it wasn't me at all."Its hurts you the most when the person who shared each and everything with you starts hiding now, starts seeing someone else, shares everything which he/she used to share with you once, she is happy then you should also be, right??Tats wat love is all about,no hard feelings,to see your loved ones happy.He/She has moved ahead,so why can't you.

May be this request was small for u but its a big request for him/her,ur "aakhri khwaish" remains unfulfilled. So you try reshaping your life, fearing to commit once again, being cautious in each and every step you take but still thinking wat went wrong,is he/she happy, does he/she still think abt me,you still care for him/her which u cannot stop because he/she was a part of you before and still is,but does it mean u stop caring about those who are close to you now, keep on hurting them bcoz you never moved ahead of your previous relation.

Aansoo Jab Bhi Palkoon Se Beh Ker Aate Hain
Kya Bat-La-Ain Aap Hamain Kitna Yaad Aate Hain
Aaj Bhi Pather Ban Ker Khare Hain Usi Mor Per
Tum Ne Jahaan Chora Tha Keh Ker Ruko Hum Aate Hain

Yaad Hai Aab Bhi Hamain Terey Bichadne Ka Sama
Ruk Gaye Thy iK Pal Ko Ye Zameen-0-Asmaan
Rastoon Se Mit Na Paye Terey Qadmoon Ke Nishaan
Aaj Bhi Hum Un Rahoon Per Palkoon Bichate Hain
Kya Bat-La-ain ap hamain kitna yaad ate hain

You still wait for their call, which comes now and then but everything has changed now except you,he/she has found someone else and even you are not alone, something better is waiting for you, there is always light at the other end of the tunnel.Love everything that's around you because life is not that too long and there’s not enough time to hate. Broken relationship hurts a lot whether it happens in between lovers, friends, husband-wife etc because it’s easy to break a relationship than to run it. I believe never ever break any relationship because we have only one life and we will never get any other chance to get that person again in our life.Your relation with tat person may not be the same as before, but u still care for him/her and you hope he/she still cares for you too....everyone needs someone in some part of their life may be your need is over, move forward ,be happy with your own life now and you are never alone, someone somewhere is thinking about you, love them who really loves you now...

Tere Bina, jee na paaun, sung tere jee na paaun

Hoke juda ab hum milein, ab na kabhi hongey judaa
Ab kyaa kahun iske siva
Mann tu talbat,tu mann talbat

Cheers!!!

Broken Clavicle NO MORE!!!

12th march 2008 i broke my right clavicle, you can read about in my previous post titled 'Broken Clavicle'. Today,i completed 4 weeks of my accident(ohhh what an achievement!!).I made a visit to my doctor, had my X-ray done and waited for him to give me some good news(not be taken in any other sense),i saw the bones were fused properly but was waiting for him to say something. There he spoke,"Everything seems to be healed up fine, you can remove your sling now".This is what i was expecting....his assistant removed the figure 8 splint,at last i was able to see my collar bone. There was small bump where the ends of the bone have fused together,he explained me saying that the long portion never pulled itself back down and it now doesn't align with the small end, thus the bump.It will take few months for that to heal and fuse altogether.

He asked me to lift my hand,i lifted... ouch,ouch..tat sux..,does it pain, yes it does a lot...now take it down behind your back...do it daily. Some more instructions to follow:
1.Don't lift any weights with ur right hand.
2.Don't ride:(,for 20 days:)
3.Have hot packs everyday
4.no gym (take a count of 90 days from the day of accident before you rejoin)
5.You can work...
6.Take this calcium capsules for another 20 days.

Went home, had a good bath(my underarms were smelling as a dead rat),wore a t-shirt(after sitting topless till now),had food my right hand,Overall, I feel good now.Going back to mangalore next week...

Cheers!!!

Tumse hi....for you my dear...

Na hai yeh panaa

Tum se hi din hota hai
Surmaiye shaam aati
Tumse hi tumse hi....

Har ghadi saans aati hai
Zindagi kehlati hai
Tumse hi tumse hi.....

Na hai yeh pana
Na Khona hi hai
Tera Na hona jane
Kyun hona hi hai

Aankhon mein ankhne teri
Bahoon mein baahein teri
Mera na mujhe mein kuch raha hua kya
Baaton mein baatein teri
Raatein saugatein teri
Kyun tera sab yeh ho gaya
hua kya
Mein kahin bhi jata hoon
Tumse hi mil jata hoon
Tumse hi tumse hi.....

Shoor mein khamoshi hai
Thodi se Behoshi hai
Tum se hi tum se hi....

Aadha sa wada kabhi
Aadhe se jayada kabhi
Jee chahe karlu is tarah wafa ka
Chode na chote kabhi
Tode na tute kabhi
Jo dhaga tumse jud gaya wafa ka

Mein Tera sharmaya hoon
Jo bhi mein ban paya hoon
Tumse hi tumse hi....
Raste miljate hai
Manzile miljati hai
Tumse hi tumse hi....

Na hai yeh panaa
Na Khona hi hai
Tera Na hona jane
Kyun hona hi hai

Thumbs up...

Atlast after 22 long days,i was assured that i still have sense in my left thumb and will be able to thumb wrestle again...:).Today came to know that my thumb bone has joined properly so had my thumb sling removed..but its pretty swollen right now, have to undergo a week of physiotherapy to achieve the exact flexibility which i had before. The right arm is still in the support of slings another 10 days for that to go..:(

Some facts to share:
  • My cell got totally damaged in this accident,no display, all data in the phone was lost(contacts were stored in phone memory),then how in the hell my dad got a missed call from my number @ 12.02 am when i was hospital, nobody there had his number even i didn't remember his,so i had to tell him everything the next morning:(.
  • If you ever thought only few people know you,my advice to you is book a bed in a hospital and just keep counting:)
  • Never ever think that nobody is watching you,may the rider on the other side of the road who just stared at you when you were busy in traffic/talking wid ur pillion/staring at some one(whichever is applicable) is ur cubicle mate:)
  • The time spent at home is always less than the time spent away from home, whatever the case may be...
  • Last one....be safe.. always wear a protection..helmet in my case b'coz of which i am alive and sharing these....

Guinness World Records for crazy people who wish to break them...

….

#6:Loudest Burp

WANT TO KNOW MORE?
100 decibels is equivalent to a chain saw, pneumatic drill, speeding express train, some car horns at five meters or noice of a farm tractor. And sounds above about 100 dB tend to be uncomfortably loud and can damage our ears if heard for a long time.

So now you know what to do when this person burps...just run...

Broken Clavicle

Well i am busting myself..... how i broke my collar bone and a thumb too:)

Its been three long weeks since i met with an accident actually accident met me,I consider myself to be a safe rider though rash sometimes(to be read as most of the times) have clogged 110kph but never had any serious accident but this one shocked me not bcoz this is my first but because i didn't hit any vehicle, tree or a person except myself..:)

12th march 2008 this was the day when it happened,it was wednesday just another weekday at work for me,routine day as usual but it was the night which changed my look and dressing style(roaming topless for 3 weeks now, should be clear from the pic).Me and my friend had a quite dinner and while returning back after dropping her, i took a new concrete road which was opened a week back after almost a year under construction.I didn't know that this was at a higher level than the existing tar road,i was coming from the old road, which was in really bad condition,so my speed was not high(my average speed is around 60, usual speed to be considered slightly higher than the average) .At the junction,i didn't see the height difference and BANG....the next thing i remember was me lying on the road with severe pain and both hands covered with blood almost 20 feet away from my bike and my bike was facing the direction in which i was coming from (may be i performed a front wheelie :) without my concern )...few rickshaw walas helped me in lifting my bike...i remember asking them where is mobile???it all seemed like i am dreaming, cudn't believe that i met with an accident...i took a U- turn..rode home convincing and telling myself "Murali, tera accident hua hai,Murali, tera accident hua hai".

I reached home, parked my bike..At first i thought this is a just a minor one, will apply some dettol and sleep but when i removed my t-shirt, i saw my collar bone poking out...SHIT.. OMG....this is gonna kill me..thank god my room mate was awake...they took me to a hospital...i was shouting there...take my x-ray..may be i dislocated my shoulder..Just then my doctor comes over and says " u r getting too much tensed, just relax a bit"."How can I??my bone is poking out",he cleans all my wounds... had some X-Rays taken and voila! My right clavicle is fractured and the bone is floating. And wait... whats this on ur left thumb, why didn't you tell me before...some more X-Rays later ..hurray a fracture here too...had some sutures(stiches) on my thumb and emergency dressings on my right hand. Meanwhile my friends handled all the formalaties, filled up the forms and was shifted to a separate ward for the night.

Scheduled a specialist visit Thursday morning. Specialist takes more X-Rays, looks at them for 10 seconds, and says "I recommend surgery". and blah blah blah on his recommendation, We will have this opearation at 5.00pm in the evening,so from 11.00 am don't have any food not even water. Was on anaesthesia,so can't tell how did i feel when i was operated:).Woke up 7.15 pm to see myself in me a sling and a figure 8 splint in my right hand and a Thumb Splint in my left hand.

Pain? Minor by day 6, already off of painkillers that were prescribed, now taking only calcium pills. Sleeping isn't fun (have to lay on my back) but other than that pretty normal. A broken collar bone usually mends itself in about 6 weeks. I've been lucky that i was wearing a helmet at tat time.

After spending 20 days watching tv,chatting and surfing without going out of my house i still need to spend another 15 days like this.....
